Bountiful Bowes!

Not only does The Bowes Museum in Barnard Castle give us world class exhibitions, it also stages classy concerts from some of the most interesting artists working today. Check this little lot out.

And the November concerts at the Bowes Museum kick off with a real goodie in the shape of Squeeze founding member Chris Difford (1 November). And he’ll not just be hitting us up with some of the finest pop songs ever written from the Squeeze back catalogue, but also chatting about his life in general (“My story is told through stand up and some sit down…”). Next up is Brit-nominated singer/songwriter Fyfe Dangerfield, best known as the frontman of the critically acclaimed band Guillemots (15 November). He will be performing an intimate and informal set, weaving together songs from the past, present, and even affording us glimpses of what’s to come. Expect a night of heartfelt storytelling, soulful vocals, and the chance to hear your favourites (audience requests are encouraged!). And then we have the chance to experience the passion and virtuosity of the world-renowned flamenco guitarist Juan Martín (21 & 22 November). Hailed as one of the greatest exponents of flamenco guitar, Martín has captivated audiences across the globe with his fiery technique, soul-stirring compositions, and deep-rooted authenticity. Finally, and moving into December, The Bowes Museum are welcoming Nerina Pallot (pictured – 5 & 6 December). She is one of the UK’s most quietly extraordinary singer/songwriters. Across eight albums, she has built a body of work that is deeply honest, musically adventurous and completely her own.
