Teessiders Set Your Sights apply balm to the tattered souls of those of us who are still in love with the pop/punk sounds of the early 2000s (think blink-182, Sum 41 etc). Of course, such stuff lives or dies on the quality of the tunes, and – hooray! – the melodies on ‘Pieces Of Me’ are absolute mosh-pit igniting bangers. It also helps that the band work absolutely in sync, riffs exploding hither and thither as they ramp up the thrills. This is the band’s third album and it finds them operating at the very top of their game. DP
