One of my favourite singer-songwriters – who just happens to be based in the north-east – returns with another album that oozes quality. And on ‘Mystery Park’ Williams has opted for a stripped back sonic palette reminiscent of her earlier stuff such as found on the ‘Old Low Light’ album (a particular fave of mine). She says this is “the most personal record I’ve made” and, as you’d expect, it hits you right there, her beautiful voice transporting you to another place – a better place. DP
