Sabrina Carpenter - Man’s Best Friend
Just a year after her sixth album rocketed her to stardom, Sabrina Carpenter is already back with a new release - and for me, the quick turnaround is very telling. For an album with a cover that sparked such controversy, the music really ought to be more exciting. I enjoyed the disco-tinged double entendres of ‘Tears’ and the ABBA-esque theatrics of ‘Goodbye’, but after that I struggle to pick out any standouts. Carpenter obviously does her signature style of innuendo-pop very well, but clever as her songwriting is, I’m already bored of it a few songs in. Would love to see her try something completely new in her next album. LT
