Offline and loving it
Stevie Martin is an online comedy sensation, but as her latest show ‘Clout’ ably demonstrates, she can also hit the heights while working a crowd too. See it at The Stand in Newcastle in early October.
‘Clout’ is a very clever show. It’s also very, very funny. Stevie Martin began her career on stage – as one third of sketch comedy group Massive Dad – before she really hit the big time online where her sketches with Lola Rose Maxwell hoovered up millions of views. But ‘Clout’ sees her back on stage and pondering the difference between online and offline comedy. To that end she deploys plenty of tech, but always in fun and novel ways. The result is a show that’s absolutely brimming with invention but, crucially, and as mentioned above, is absolutely hilarious.
