TV Death - Neon Dreamland

This bunch of Newcastle desperados are taking no prisoners on their latest, which hits hard from the get-go with a rather delirious melange of garage rock, psych and skate punk. Their big and meaty melodies – which are nicely frazzled in all the right places – are given extra texture by some darker synth elements, and comparisons with The Cramps el al are certainly not wide of the mark. They marry their wall of scuzz to lyrical concerns that tackle many of today’s ills – from superficiality to nationalism – but they sound like they’re having enormous fun while doing it. RM
