Reneé Rapp - BITE ME

Reneé Rapp’s unapologetically abrasive personality dominates on BITE ME, which is wildly different to the melancholic ballads of her debut, Snow Angel. She charismatically tells messy stories of queer dating, Hollywood parties and the chaotic life of a rising star in her twenties to a soundtrack that combines moody rock n roll with pop, synth and disco. The emotional ballads fall flat in comparison to these attitude-charged hits, with the album struggling to find a way to showcase her vocal talent while capturing the same level of individuality as the more upbeat tracks. For me, Rapp is at her best when she’s having fun with her music. LT
