Disiniblud is what happens when the worlds of two experimental multi-instrumentalists - Rachika Nayar and Nina Keith - collide. Engaging in a musical practice that prioritises comfort, trust and childlike play, this largely instrumental album juxtaposes daunting themes such as mortality, destruction and historical wounds with an approach of wonder and curiosity. Explosive soundscapes, droning bass and intense guitar riffs blend with gentle twinkling melodies, piano lullabies and sounds evoking childlike joy, such as a toy xylophone. The end result is a sonic encapsulation of what it feels like to heal your inner child, embracing both the light and dark of life. A very moving listen. LT
