Let there be light!
Show-stopping. Jaw-dropping. Brain-scrambling. All of these can be applied to Luxmuralis who will be lighting up Durham Cathedral – quite literally – this October with their immersive soundscape that will run for five days only. Each evening, ancient texts and classic stories will be projected across all areas inside the cathedral and cloisters, with the artwork illuminating centuries-old architecture, inviting visitors to pause and soak in some of the world’s best stories – from children’s classics to fantasy, from romance to poetry. The cathedral will also be filled with a captivating soundscape, celebrating the timeless tradition of sharing stories. Due to The Storytellers’ literary theme, this year Luxmuralis forms part of the programme for the ‘Magna Carta and the North’ exhibition, the stunning show that is currently on display at the cathedral until 2 November.
