Words United by Michael Rosen

The poet, children’s author and political commentator Michael Rosen has proven to be a beacon of moral clarity on the genocide that is currently being wrought in Gaza, and this volume – published by Gateshead based Culture Matters – collects together a series of his poems, thoughts and sketches that he has penned over the last year or so (together with a couple of pertinent poems from 2014 that have found particular traction recently). Rosen is particularly good at unpicking statements made by Western politicians and the Western media who have sought to justify mass murder, lifting up their words and holding them to the light until they crumble. He also deftly balances anger and wit alongside a clear-eyed writing style that perfectly suits the subject matter at hand: where others seek to obfuscate he brings clarity. All profits from the book go to Medical Aid for Palestinians, and the print and e-book are available from culturematters.org.uk RM
