With our rainbow outfits freshly washed and our glitters dug out of the makeup bag, Pride season is upon us, and this year Heaton in Newcastle is getting ready to let its collective hair down.

July comes around once a year, and although we show our spirit and personality for all 365 days, the energy of this month remains unmatched. With plenty to see and do, I am happy to give some extra attention to our newest Pride celebration from the lovely community of Heaton. Local businesses, eateries, bars and social spaces have all come collectively together and will be bringing us a lovely bunch of musicians, drag artists, traders, makers and more. For four days this most wholesome outcrop of the city will really party, and I can't wait to see Heaton bursting with colours and sounds as the LGBTQ+ community spirit blooms once again. MW
