Léa Sen - LEVELS
The debut album from this London-based, French singer is a balmy delight. Apparently, she’s compared the release to a surreal, liminal hotel, where each room holds a different chapter of her life, and the tracks here certainly do have a dreamlike quality. A lot of woozy trip-hop, and glitchy R&B, do the heavy lifting, but she also has a real melodic pop sensibility which gives these tracks extra oomph. Add in her mellifluous voice – and distinctively smudged guitar playing style – and you’ve got the complete package. DP
