It’s life Jim, but not as we know it…

The new exhibition by Jim Moir (aka Vic Reeves) is currently going down a storm at The Biscuit Factory in Newcastle, and you can see it right up until 20 July.

Jim Moir likes his birds and you can see plenty of them at this show including some neon-infused gulls that he has depicted mid-squark. His ‘Puffin in Sunglasses’ has also drawn plenty of admiring glances, but the show has much else to recommend it, not least ‘Self Portrait – Blue Wig’ (pictured), which makes a fine companion piece to ‘Self Portrait – Pink Wig’. Elsewhere I love ‘Moby Dick’ featuring a stern looking Captain Ahab getting ready to face down that pesky whale; ‘Dracula BC’ (featuring a rather colourful looking Count); ‘Batman’ (who is ironing the trousers of his bat-suit); and ‘L. Grayson Generation Game’ (with the gameshow host mispronouncing his fave catchphrase: “Shut the door”). These original works – big emphasis on the word ‘original’ – are also available to buy. RM
