Taste, fashion and textiles
This captivating display features everything from opulent historical textiles to the cutting-edge creations of French haute couture, and among the highlights are iconic designs from 20th and 21st century designers including Yves Saint Laurent, Jeanne Paquin and Elsa Schiaparelli. Also on show are some intricate embroideries and breathtaking pieces of lacework. Examples of Bowes’ style influences from the mid-18th century can also be viewed alongside some rare surviving pieces from her personal wardrobe and material from the archives.
