Colour me Happy

David Wilson is returning to his native north-east for a show at Bailiffgate Museum & Gallery in Alnwick, which will showcase his colourful mastery of land and seascapes.

Something special happens when David Wilson applies paint to a canvas. He deploys big, delectable swodges of colour in a way that is utterly transformative, and he brings to life the world as he sees it in a remarkably unique way. His latest show sees him exploring the North-West Highlands of Scotland and Northumberland and of it he says: “The North-West Highlands landscape is very different from Northumberland. No less wild in places but the light is different. Northumberland for me is its big skies, dramatic coastline and strong colours. Changing landscapes has reinvigorated my work and is the source of this exhibition.” This one is a real eye-opener. Do not miss.
