Emerging art! See it here!
Seaton Delaval Hall is always worth a visit at the best of times (I mean, just look at it…) but these annual shows are real cultural highlights and should never be passed up. It’s open to artists from all artforms including music, sound, theatre, film, fashion, literature and design – as well as fine artists – and the shortlist for 2025 has now been announced. These include Azeez Aromasodun (influenced by Yoruba culture and exploring identity and spirituality), Max Cooper Clark (connecting art, architecture, ecology and mineral extraction), Bethan Harris (exploring memory and the natural world through drawing and painting), David Kenney (exploring light and shadows in architectural forms), Paulina Malowaniec (she’s interested in cultural heritage and using design and art as a tool for education), Joanna Manousis (exploring mirror making in cast glass), Wilfred Sears (his sculptural work is in wood and stone) and Suzanne Smith (she works in hot blown and flameworked glass). Check out these works and then vote for your favourite.
