Lowfeye - CAN CAN

Durham’s Lowfeye – featuring Carol Nichol and Alan Rowland – wrap all their elements, including indie rock and melodic guitar-pop, into a widescreen aesthetic that is utterly compelling. They also do Lee Hazelwood/Nancy Sinatra like 60s pop (‘Valley Of The Dolls’) and ethereal folk rock (‘Wicker Man’), but whatever they do, it’s always unmistakeably them. And it always helps that they write memorable hooks to go along with all those sumptuous tunes. Brilliant! DP
