Durham Heritage Centre and Museum

Open: June 2pm-4.30pm. July-Sept 11am-4:30pm daily. Oct 2pm-4:30pm (weekends). April-May 2pm-4.30pm (weekends and bank holidays). Closed Nov-Mar. Entry £2. Durham’s only dedicated local history museum, this Medieval church retained its original purpose until the 1960s but now plays host to a wide variety of historical pieces from the locality, including a cell from Durham jail.
