The Old George Inn
One of Newcastle’s oldest licensed premises, dating from the time of King Charles I (who is reputed to have had a pint here). It’s reached by a narrow, cobbled walkway (off the madness that is the Bigg Market) and gets a big thumbs up all round for its olde worlde, split level quaintness. There’s plenty of room and loads of tables and chairs and the music is kept to bearable levels.
