Working out of a community centre on the coast, and then a Newcastle vicarage, revivalist four-piece LOVELY ASSISTANT have crafted their debut album 'Greetings from the Pre-wave' over the last two years. Taking in influences from the torch songs of the fifties through to J.J. Cale, Nina Simone, Joanna Newsom, Arthur Russell, Willie Nelson, Palace, Prefab Sprout and Elvis Costello, The Stand is kindly hosting the vinyl launch of the album for Treetrunk Records.
