One of the foremost artists working in Scandinavia. His atmospheric paintings draw on the dramatic light of the rising fjords and wild seas of the Nothern coastlines. This exhibition of watercolour paintings highlights his ability to capture those luminous atmospheres through washed textures and incandescent colour. Whilst the contrast between ephemeral light and solid mountain in Opdahl’s mark-making abstract the vista, there is a poetry to his works that is influenced by a landscape so dramatic that it can never be rendered exactly as it is seen.
