The Dr will see you…

Dr Packer is coming to Hoochie Coochie in Newcastle this July and he’ll be bringing with him a huge trunk of soulful disco and 80s floor-filling sounds.

Dr Packer is the alias of West Australian DJ and producer Greg Pecker, a fella steeped in the best retro sounds of the 1970s and 1980s. He got his first set of decks in 1989 and in 1991 he won the DMC World DJ Championship. He defended the title in 1992 but by this time he preferred club DJing and longer sets to five-minute scratch battle routines. In the 21st century he became known for his re-edits of classic songs such as Hall & Oates’ ‘I Can’t Go For That’ and his sets are invariably star-studded with such classics presented in fresh and invigorating ways.
