The magic word is Pratchett

Marc Burrows draws on the life and work of a certain very funny fantasy author for his latest show ‘The Magic of Terry Pratchett’. See it in Middlesbrough this April.

Of all the “much missed” authors around, then Terry Pratchett must be near the very top of the list. With more than 100 million books sold worldwide in 43 languages, Pratchett was the UK’s best-selling author of the 1990s, and he continues to have a huge following today – with new readers discovering his oeuvre all of the time. A big fan of his is author and comedian Marc Burrows, and in his new show he explores Pratchett’s life, influences, impact, wit and wisdom, from his days as a school librarian, to his time as a trainee journalist, to his untimely death from Alzheimers in 2015 aged just 66. Expect bad puns and unnecessary footnotes galore. (Pic: I Was There Photography)
