Will you make it to 2:22?

The very spooky – and very funny – ‘2:22 A Ghost Story’ is one of the highlights of the Theatre Royal’s autumn season. Grab yourself a seat (be warned, though, you’ll only ever use the edge of it…).

“There’s something in our house. I hear it every night at the same time.” That’s Jenny chatting to husband Sam. And that time in full? 2:22. Sam, however, isn’t having any of it. But when their old friend Lauren comes for dinner with new partner Ben, they all start chatting about things that go bump in the night. Can the dead really walk again? Some believe, others don’t, and they aim to resolve matters by staying up until 2:22 when, hopefully, they’ll learn the truth. This production has been a real modern phenomenon, breaking box-office records at West End theatres where it received five star reviews across the board. Penned by Danny Robins – creator of the hit BBC podcasts ‘Uncanny’ and ‘The Battersea Poltergeist’ – it manages to combine laughs with a genuine sense of unease and big scares. Leading the stellar cast are Joe Absolom (Doc Martin), Charlene Boyd (Mayflies), Nathaniel Curtis (It’s a Sin) and Louisa Lytton (Eastenders). DP
