Staring death in the face…

‘What Does Life After Death Look Like?’ is a thought-provoking fusion of art and introspection that explores the enigmatic realm of existence beyond life itself. See the exhibition in Sunderland this September.

This project was sparked through artist-curator Amy South’s profound encounters with loss and transformation. Does life after death possess a form, she wondered? And can it be encapsulated in colours, sounds or patterns? After an impressive response to a call-out asking these questions, a chorus of voices, both artistic and non-artistic, responded to that query. And you can see the results at this show that takes in everything from paint to photography to live art, with all pieces seeking to explore that liminal space between creation and cessation. This exciting project encourages audiences to reflect on their own experiences, while engaging with eclectic perspectives that may at times challenge preconceptions. What else? Workshops and interactive dialogues? You got ‘em. EB

What Does Life After Death Look Like? 15-25 September, The Moving Gallery, Sunderland. (Note: there will be immersive performances on 15 and 23 September. More info on the whole project from: amysouth.co.uk)
