Getting Creative at Baltic
It’s true! Baltic are running a new series of beginner-friendly workshops in June that they’ve slapped with the label ‘Baltic Shop Creates’. First up is ‘An Origami Bag’ (pictured) where you can join textile designer Amy Trainor, get familiar with a sewing machine, and create a beautiful geometric-print bag complete with sturdy handle (Saturday 3 June, 1-4pm, £45 per person). Then they have ‘Customises Shoes’. Whether it’s your fave Dr Martens or your new Nike Air Max, bring them along and artist Charlotte Jarps will help you transform them into something unique (Saturday 10 June, 1-4pm, £45 per person). Finally in June they have ‘Wall Hangings’. Create your own wall hangings inspired by your favourite food in a two-part workshop with artist Bianco Perry. In true Bianco style, design and sew a stunning wall decal that combines beautiful fabrics with your favourite foodstuffs…
(Saturday 17 & Saturday 24 June, 12pm-3pm, £40 per person). Booking essential (see website, below). Seek: baltic.art/creates
