The Caper is taking over Baltic for one night in June with music, food, DJs, comedy, drink, live art and more.

The Caper is one of those real clear the diaries and make sure that you’re there events, and their knees-up at Baltic in June is promising thrills galore. There will be sets from the sublime Sisi and Cortney Dixon (I’ve sang the praises of both Sisi and Dixon in these very pages – both are truly extraordinary), as well as soulful stuff from Moon Wax in the front bar overlooking the river. There will also be comedy in Baltic Kitchen from host Catherine Young who will be joined by Mike Milligan, Sascha Lo and Howka Charvaz. DJ BeauJack will be spinning some good stuff, and there will also be salsa dance lessons from Brazilian superstar Andre Viana. Five bars will be open serving everything from local beer to cool cocktails and the region’s best chefs will be on hand with some top quality dishes. There will be live art, vintage stalls, slightly left-field films and, of course, all the exhibition spaces will be open. The Baltic is a joy to visit at any time, but if you fill it with the aforementioned then it becomes a Do Not Miss. DP
