Heads Up

The superbly raucous False Heads are hitting Sunderland at the back end of January to shove a metaphorical Dyson up your metaphorical jumper.

The future of rock and roll. That’s what former Ramones manager Danny Fields said of False Heads when he caught them playing Camden before they’d even released anything. Also soon on board were the likes of Iggy Pop who championed the band on his BBC Radio 6 music programme. They released their debut album ‘It’s All There But You’re Dreaming’ in 2020 and it won much praise from the music press with Louder Than War declaring “False Heads are a force to be reckoned with” and Clash frothing “Unapologetically chaotic. 8.5/10”. Their ‘Sick Moon’ album followed in 2022 and it’s another album chock full of wired rock that barrels along on a sea of punky riffs and citrus sharp melodies. Live they’re a very enticing proposition indeed and this promises to be quite a night. GM
