Feeling Fruity?

‘Harvest: Fruit Gathering’ at the National Glass Centre brings together two of the UK’s leading glass artists: Rachael Woodman and Neil Wilkin.

These look good enough to eat, do they not? Please don’t, though – you’d almost certainly die the most agonising of deaths. They’re made of glass, you see, and were brought into being by the extraordinarily talented Rachael Woodman. She, along with Neil Wilkin, will be exhibiting together at this show for the first time – despite having worked collaboratively for almost 40 years. Julia Stephenson, Head of Arts at the NGC: “They’re two of the country’s most respected and talented glass artists and we’re delighted to be hosting their first opportunity to present their work together. The exhibition has allowed both artists the chance to express their mastery of glass through the creation of beautiful new work inspired by the natural and spiritual worlds.”

Harvest: Fruit Gathering, until March 12, National Glass Centre, Sunderland. sunderlandculture.org.uk
