Not A Panto!

If you’re looking for a theatrical hit this December, that doesn’t involve fellas in bloomers getting pies in the face, then Live Theatre have the very excellent ‘Wishes On The Wind’.

“We would do this thing on New Year’s Day. Whisper a wish into the wind and it’ll blow it all around the world so the universe can help it come true…” This new play with music from Benjamin Storey is a celebration of Northumbrian identity, folk music and family tradition. It concerns Charlie who dreams of becoming a musician, but those dreams are going nowhere. Sam’s world, meanwhile, feels like a bubble about to burst. As the pair struggle with a sense of belonging and connection, can a chance Christmas encounter unwrap the answers? This production will also feature a short play by Alison Scurfield as a festive curtain raiser. GM
