More Jodie Than You Can Handle

Crack fave Jodie Nicholson has got five dates across the north-east this December, and if you’ve not yet availed yourself of her talent then now’s your chance.

Take it away Jodie: “I’m playing a run of intimate shows in December with my wonderful band in some of my fave north-east venues. Expect new songs, the usual favourites and something a lil’ more stripped back. It feels the perfect way to round off this year and also – we’re in for a treat – Joe Ramsey will be opening each night with a special solo set.” Colour me enticed! Nicholson is based in Hurworth-on-Tees and her folk/pop, mellow indie and electronic washes have won praise on these pages, as well as from the wider world (she’s had regular airplay on the BBC – Radio 1, Radio 2 and 6 Music). She’s also played the likes of Sage Gateshead and The Fire Station, but this five date tour will see her performing at some of the region’s most intimate, and charming, venues. Be prepared to be utterly captivated. DP

Jodie Nicholson + Joe Ramsey: Saturday 3 December, Claypath Deli, Durham; Saturday 10 December, Off The Ground, Middlesbrough; Sunday 11 December, The Waiting Room, Eaglescliffe; Wednesday 14 December, The Forum, Darlington; Saturday 17 December, Bobiks, Newcastle.
