Get the Abbie Habit

Abbie Ozard is one of the hottest of all rising indie-pop stars and she’ll be smashing it (i.e. playing her best songs) when she comes to Bobiks in Newcastle this December.

Abbie Ozard – who hails from a small town in Cheshire – quickly caught the ear of radio tastemaker types with her bedroom-pop that spoke of wistful coming of age tales that tackle all the biggies of your early 20s including both anxiety and liberation. Jack Saunders and Huw Stephens of BBC Radio 1 were soon on board with her, and Chris Hawkins on BBC 6 Music is always singing her praises. Her initial burst of activity saw her snapped up by the London based House Anxiety label and develop her material throughout 2021, writing and recording with Will Bloomfield. Her sound is now fuller, but she still retains all the infectious breezy charm of early Lily Allen. 2023 is likely to be her biggest year yet, so catch her in the intimate environs of Bobiks before she goes mega.
