Millie Suu-Kyi at The Biscuit Factory

Winner of 2020’s Biscuit Factory Contemporary Young Artist award, Millie Suu-Kyi’s interdisciplinary collection Belonging(s) explores the relationships between people and their possessions, with a focus on the use of said items to cover insecurities while boosting external appearance. The exhibit is made up of a collection of five characters portrayed in both ceramic statuettes and printed illustrations, showing off Suu-Kyi’s interdisciplinary style and skill. The varying portrayals of each character offers insight into each character’s lifestyle, leaving plenty of room for interpretation of the rich storylines and personalities associated each character.
