New Horizons

Luke McTaggart is one of best young landscape artists working in the north-east today, and his latest show ‘Horizons’ is coming to the Bailiffgate Museum and Gallery in Alnwick.

“The title ‘Horizons’ reflects the tension present in all of my works, between ground and sky, but also speaks to the fact that this show will represent my first exhibition after finishing my degree at Northumbria University and painting full time.” That’s Luke McTaggart talking about his new show, a show that looks set to be a stunning showcase of what makes this artist so special. Yes, it’s his first show after graduating, but McTaggart is already making a name for himself by being the recipient of several awards. He was recently awarded a Highly Commended Award at the Woodhorn Museum Open Exhibition for his painting ‘Northumbrian Dusk (Fields Beyond Amble)’, and he’s also this year’s Poster Winner at the Alnmouth Arts Festival. Find out what all the fuss is about by checking out this wonderful show – pronto. GM
