Pan's People

Tinker Bell, The Lost Boys, Mr Smee and all your other faves will be having a whale of a time at the Royalty Theatre this December when ‘Peter Pan’ swings into action.

Tis the season to be jolly – jolly sick of all the rubbish that’s on TV, that is. No – the real fun this festive season is to be found where it always is – the theatre. And one of the best pantos around this year is at Sunderland’s Royalty Theatre where they will be staging ‘Peter Pan’, a panto that is as evergreen as Peter’s tights. This venerable venue (which celebrates its centenary in 1925) always comes up with the goods with these shows with adults enjoying the uproarious humour as much as the children. Written and directed with gleeful aplomb by Alex Goodchild, this feelgood production is the very definition of a theatrical tonic. GM
