Corpsing On Stage

Fancy helping out with a murder mystery? Brace yourselves for ‘Much Ado About Murder’, which is coming to the courtyard of Middlesbrough Town Hall in August.

I love a good murder – fictional murders at least. From Agatha Christie to Cluedo by way of Sherlock Holmes, there is no better entertainment than a good garrotting. And ‘Much Ado About Murder’ – penned by Peter Mimmack and brought our way by Heartbreak Productions – promises to be right up my street. This original murder mystery will swivel the spotlight on five suspects, and – get this! – will depend on the us, the audience, to find the answers. Imagine! Who was lurking in the corridor carrying a candlestick? When did that third gunshot go off? Was it before, or after, that very silly song? It’s all taking place in the courtyard (tables and chairs provided) but in the event of bad weather it’ll be in the Town Hall Crypt. DP

Much Ado About Murder, Thursday 18 August, Middlesbrough Town Hall courtyard, 6.30pm, £16.50.
