Mouse Party!

Mousetival – featuring one of the region’s most idiosyncratic bands (I’m talking Mouses) – is happening again this year at the Georgian Theatre in Stockton. Hooray!

This festival is finally reaching its fourth incarnation (after a couple of Covid hit barren years) and will, once again, be a super-inclusive, family friendly, all-day punk fest, featuring a hand-picked line-up featuring some of the best DIY bands on the planet (including the likes of Squiggles, Bigfatbig, Scruffy Bear, Kkett, Faithful Johannes, Sorority Grrrls and more). The festival is the brainchild of Mouses, a gloriously lo-fi garage punk duo consisting of guitarist and vocalist Steven Bardgett and drummer Nathan Duff. They’re an outfit famed for their full-throttle live shows and commitment to tackling societies many injustices (they work tirelessly to promote individuality and normalise gender fluidity). They’ve been played on both BBC Radio 6 and BBC Radio 1, and have shared stages with everyone from Idles to Wolf Alice. This festival – however – is their natural habitat. JL
