The Future of Art
2020? Of course! This is the first time Newcastle University BA Fine Art graduates have had to display their final degree work (something to do with a pandemic). And what a knockout show it looks to be with a diverse set of contemporary voices exhibiting their wares, including painting (such as Bel McSweeny’s ‘Untitled’ – pictured), sculpture, installation, performance and new media. The show also includes work made since graduation, which is the kind of Brucie Bonus I can really get behind. Professor Venda Louise Pollock, Dean of Culture & Creative Arts at Newcastle University: “Not only are we immensely proud of their achievements, this is a moment also to acknowledge their perseverance, commitment and care for one another during the most difficult of times.” RM
