Digitally Enhanced

If you feel in need of the kind of euphoric rush that will provide balm for your very soul, then Warm Digits are your go-to band.

I barely thought it possible that Warm Digits would manage to scale even greater peaks than they already had, but when they released their stunning ‘Flight of Ideas’ album last year, I had to think again. Featuring contributions from The Delgados’ Emma Pollock (who served up vocals for the deliriously good single ‘The View From Nowhere’, which was a fixture on Radio 6 Music), Maximo Park’s Paul Smith, and indie-dance revisionists The Orielles, it was a release that built upon everything that was good about the band, bending their motorik beats and skew-whiff funk into very new and very interesting aural directions. The duo have been compared to everyone from Can to Giorgio Moroder to Gang of Four, but with ‘Flight of Ideas’ they showed they’re very much their own thing. Fill your rootin’ tootin’ boots. GM
