An up-and-coming Contemporary Dance Company based in the North East of England is planning on ‘returning to its roots’ as it prepares for their second live streamed performance in the North East.

Originally founded in 2018 by Lily Horgan and Charlie Dunne, Meta4 Dance Company is a Northumberland based contemporary dance company focusing on the importance of movement for all. Now, Meta4 are returning to an area of the North East close to their hearts, with their latest Arts Council Funded project ‘Natural Theatres’. The project seeks to encourage the use of non traditional performance venues whilst also increasing accessibility for audiences of the arts.

The second of the three live streams of the project is being streamed on 9th April 2021 with Pelican Theatre performing two excerpts; A Bitter Pill and Aliveness. The performances will be live streamed to Meta4 Dance’s YouTube and Facebook event at 6pm on 9th April 2021.

A Bitter Pill - Excerpt "A vast uncontrolled experiment, unparalleled in the history of medicine" - Barbara Seaman, 1969.

A/Liveness - Excerpt Can we feel connected to an audience we cannot see? We are the subjects of our own experiment to find out.

Tickets for the event are charged at a ‘pay what you feel’ rate and more information about the performances and Meta4’s ongoing work in the region can be found by visiting their website; www.meta4dance.com
