Harkin – a woman, if you will – has been touring since her teens with her own bands as well as the likes of Sleater-Kinney, Wild Beasts and Kurt Vile. As you would expect given such a pedigree she is adept at pushing a leftfield indie-pop sound. She’s stepping into the limelight with her debut solo album and it’s thrumming with songs that fizz with real intent. I’m in.
