Album Of The Month: Porridge Radio
Brighton’s Porridge Radio released a clutch of singles in 2019, which saw the band propelled from word-of-mouth ones-to-watch to something approaching Next Big Things. Their debut album of woozy indie tunes backs up that initial promise and nicely straddles the spheres of rumbustious and ramshackle with plenty to spare. And lead singer Dana Margolin has a lovely delivery that runs from slacker-ish (a la Courtney Barnet) to wired. Fans of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and St Vincent are unlikely to be throwing empty milk bottles at them any time soon.
