greatnorthbridge.jpg Tories unveil “levelling up” plan

Hey! This is no Tory plan! This is the fantasy art of Atomhawk who have a truly stunning exhibition coming to Great North Museum: Hancock.

Atomhawk are a real north-east success story. They’re a conceptual art studio operating at the very top of their game who have worked with everyone from Marvel to Warner Bros to Microsoft. And this family friendly exhibition features scores of their digital illustrations depicting ideas for science fiction characters, environments, props and vehicles. In addition, rare items in the museum collection – including ornate Indian daggers, Japanese Samurai armour and Chinese jewellery – sit alongside new concept artworks they have inspired. ‘Other Worlds’ provides an insight into the creative process of the digital artist, charting the journey from inspiration and ideas to world building and realising finished concepts. Ultimately, the exhibition hopes to inspire young people to consider careers in visual art and the entertainment industries.
