darkzy.jpg Turn to the Darkzy side

Fans of all things bass are probably already hyperventilating at the thought of a Darkzy & Window Kid smackdown. They’re both at Cosmic Ballroom in February.

Hailing from Nottingham, and inspired by all kinds of gritty low frequencies, Darkzy has managed to develop his own unique sound, which is influenced by the best of the UK underground taking in bassline, drum and bass, dubstep, UK garage and grime. Despite his rather gloomy name, he is one of the UK’s brightest talents and has already released a string of original and heavyweight remixes. He will be joined by Window Kid, a real rising star on the UK MC scene. Coming up through the ranks of grime and dubstep, he now stands tall among his Crucast pals (such as Bru C, and, yep, Darkzy). His class clown attitude does not overshadow his talent and you can expect him to give it both barrels at this night that is certain to not only raise the roof, but totally obliterate it (legal note: metaphorically speaking).

Darkzy & Window Kid, Saturday 15 February, Cosmic Ballroom, Stowell Street, Newcastle, 10pm-4am, £12/£15. skiddle.com
