askmeanything19.jpg Agony aunts run wild

‘Ask Me Anything’ is an immersive new show in which the multi-award winning theatre company, The Paper Birds, become agony aunts. It’s coming to Live Theatre in January.

‘Ask Me Anything’ was inspired by the magazines that The Paper Birds troupe read when they were growing up in the 90s and 00s – particularly the problem pages. For this show, they asked young people to write and ask them anything. Nothing off limits. The show – filled with The Paper Birds’ trademark mischief and mayhem – explores everything from cyber addiction to self-expression, as well as peer pressure, sisterhood and youth suicide, and uses real-life verbatim stories of young people from across the UK. Set in a teenage bedroom ‘Ask Me Anything’ is a visual/sonic tour-de-force and features video streaming and original live music from the celebrated singer/songwriter Rosie Doonan, BBC Radio 2 Folk Award nominee. The show is suitable for anyone – from teenagers to grandparents and everyone in between – who is still trying to figure stuff out.

Ask Me Anything, Thursday 30 January-Saturday 8 February, Live Theatre, Newcastle, 7.30pm (1pm mat 5 & 6 February and 2.30pm mat 1 & 8 February), £6-£14. live.org.uk
