artprize199.jpg Attention young artists!

And by “young” I’m talking under 35. Why? It’s because the Biscuit Factory have launched their 2020 Contemporary Young Artist Award. (And, hey, they’ve doubled the prize money.)

Along with the opportunity for a solo show at the Biscuit Factory, the winner of this award will now be awarded £2000 within the overall prize package. A group exhibition featuring work from all of the shortlisted entrants will headline the gallery’s Spring season, taking up residency within its first-floor Cube Gallery space and running from 6 March-24 May. Submissions are accepted before 26 January in paintings, photography, original handmade prints, sculpture, glass, ceramics and textiles. The gallery’s in-house curatorial team will choose the overall winner, with the public also given the opportunity to vote for their favourite – who will be awarded a £500 cash prize. (Pictured is 2019’s winner, ‘Scaffold’, by Juliet Gibbs.)
