Oh man! The Bellrays are back! This East LA outfit belt out it live like a netty door banging in a hurricane and they’ve got two dates in the region this January.

When you seen The Bellrays for the first time you know in your heart that you would sell your granny just to be in the same room as them again. They are an exhilarating force of nature and, what’s more, have a back catalogue of songs that demand to be heard in the live arena. They combine rock and soul so effortlessly that it seems to come as natural to them as breathing. Of course, they never set out to create a ‘sound’ as such. They just took a whole bunch of bands and artists that they love – including Lou Rawls, The Beatles, Stevie Wonder, Billie Holiday, The DB’s, Led Zeppelin, and The Ramones, to name a few – and let that lot guide them. The result is sweaty and authentic R&B that sounds like the blues filtered through punk. If you’ve not come across them before, then take yourself off to Spotify forthwith and, most importantly, make sure you secure a ticket for one of their north-east shows. Preferably both.
