dawnlandes19s.jpg Nashville comes to Boro

Dawn Landes has flitted rather gloriously around several musical styles over five albums but her latest ‘Meet Me At The River’ is firmly in the country camp.

Dawn Landes was born in Louisville, Kentucky, but has spent many years performing around New York where she built a reputation playing folky Americana, sharing a stage with the likes of Sufjan Stevens and Suzanne Vega. For last year’s ‘Meet Me At The River’ however, which she describes as her “Nashville record”, she upped sticks to move to the home of country where she enlisted the skills of Fred Foster, the Country Music Hall of Fame legend who played a pivotal role in the careers of Dolly Parton, Roy Orbison and Kris Kristofferson. The result was an album that won rare praise with Landes’ crystal clear vocals shining brightly among a whole bunch of songs in the classic county mould. She’s now a fixture on the Nashville scene and she’ll be bringing some of that authentic magic when she pays us a visit this December.
