gilesp19.jpg Cheer up Gilles!

The very excellent Gilles Peterson is playing the next Reasons To Be Cheerful, which is having a knees-up at Wylam Brewery in November.

Gilles Peterson has been a pivotal figure on the UK scene for many a year now. He founded some of the most influential dance labels around including Acid Jazz and Talkin’ Loud, as well as current go-getters, Brownswood Recordings. His considerable efforts in promoting dance culture saw him awarded an MBE in 2004 (and he also picked up the Mixmag Award for Outstanding Contribution to Dance Music in 2013). He has been key in pushing jazz, hip-hop and electronic music to the fore and he continues to join the dots on his Radio 6 Music show in which he also takes in Afro, Latin and other world sounds. His show at Wylam Breweries promises to be extra special as he will appear alongside trusted MC General Rubbish and Reasons To Be Cheerful Soundsystem. Expect international boogie sounds from every corner of the globe.
