The outrageously good Glenn Moore is coming to The Stand in Newcastle this November, which is the best news I’ve heard since Netflix cancelled ‘The OA’.

I loved Glenn Moore’s last show which saw him talking about his ex-girlfriend and how much he missed her: “I remember one evening she was round my house. She did something very flirtatious. She did the cherry stone trick. She put a cherry stone in her mouth and tied it into a knot with her tongue. It’s got very sexual connotations. Then she took things one step further. She put a whole Kinder Egg in her mouth and pulled out a fully assembled toy.” Moore is unapologetically silly and his gags have been honed to utter perfection. He has made a real name for himself on shows such as ‘Mock The Week’ and ‘The Stand Up Sketch Show’ and his first solo UK tour – Love Don’t Live Here Glenny Moore – promises to herald a real new shooting star on the circuit.

Glenn Moore, Saturday 30 November, The Stand, High Bridge, Newcastle, doors 3.30pm (show starts 4.30pm), £12. Thestand.co.uk
